My Final Thoughts // Exchange Post

It's been 6 months since I left Finland and I am finally back. Time flew by faster than I expected. It seemed like I was in America for only a month or even less than that! In this post I'll cover my final thoughts about what I thought about the semester and the whole process of going to Murray State University.
So as some people may know I applied through my school to go to MSU in January and it was a long process. I had to wait until March to know if I was chosen to go to MSU. After that I contacted the school and was able to go their own application process and then application for my J1 visa. You can read more about that here.
Overall I think the process to apply was lengthy but there are some things I could have done when I arrived to MSU (like applying to classes, making a MSU account, etc). If I would have waited then there would have been less things to do before the semester.
One thing I'm very glad about is arriving early to America to travel and then MSU to move into my apartment. This also gave me time to meet new people and participate in school activities. You can see my apartment tour here and my room tour here. I also am glad for choosing the classes that I did. I had great teachers and learned a lot. I would recommend for future exchange students to rent a car (if they can for really cheap) cause having a car gives you the opportunity to drive to Nashville and nearby cities. I'm really glad I had a car cause it was so convenient.

Overall I am VERY glad that I went to MSU for my exchange semester. It ended up being not as expensive as I thought it would be due to help from KELA and being on a budget. I made lifetime friends, had amazing experiences, and lifelong memories.
Thank you to everyone who helped me this semester. I will be forever grateful.
Love,
Susanna
