My American Life Part 3 was a summary of what happened from April to the end of May so this post is what happened from June to August! The summer right now seems like a blur and forever ago! I worked all summer due to having to do an internship as required by my major. Every music business student needs to do two internships to get more work experience.

I worked at Ascend Amphitheater in downtown Nashville. I worked as a site operations employee where I had to help with load-in, load-out, during the shows, and sometimes after shows. Some of the shifts were very tough and hard work; however, the night shifts were my favorite. I worked from 10:30pm to 4am and those shifts were the nicest because they were the calmest shifts. I worked there from mid-May to mid-August every week. I had a few days off here and there. During, those times I spent time with family or had a relaxing days.

Working at Ascend:

During the month of June, I was also taking an online accounting course. It was the hardest class I have ever taken! It was only 4 weeks but it had 15 weeks of material packed into those couple of weeks. There was an exam every week, and 3 homework assignments due during the weekends. Plus we needed to watch lecture videos online and there were a ton of them! I struggled during June due to working a lot and taking the summer course. Thankfully I had a few days off in June to go to Lexington for a family reunion.

During July I only worked so it was slightly easier. I also had time to go to go to Murray to organize my apartment more and take extra shifts at work.

In August, I went on a family cabin and lake trip. It was nice to have some time to relax together and get some fresh air. The locations were amazing and beautiful!

After the cabin trip, it was time for me to head to Murray to get my things in order before school started. The fall semester began August 20th. I met new students, started a mentorship in Nashville, and celebrated Zack's birthday. I also had the displeasure of having two of my tires blow up on my car and the displeasure of paying $500 to fix them. Boo.

Overall, I had a busy summer learning at Ascend, spending time with family, and getting settled into my new home.

Love,

Susanna
